Funny things she says

You never know what's going to come out of Maci Rose's mouth these days...

These are just a few of them lately:

Yesterday my mom and I went to Bargains on the Bluff consignment sale and when we were leaving my mom had to use the restroom and Maci Rose went with her... a few minutes later she came running out and said "Momma I tee-tee." Of course my mom said she didnt even sit on the potty she just stood there and watched but I died out laughing.

This morning while in church I opened up a pack of Dora the Explorer fruit snacks and each one I gave her she would yell what it was. Dora, Boots,  Backpack and when she got the yellow map she started singing.."I map, I map."

If you ask her what her name is she will completely ignore the Maci part and say "I Ro-Rose". My dad has the biggest kick out of this and I know my grandmother Rose would absolutely love hearing her say that!!

If you ask her how old she is she will hold up her finger as one but you never know if she is going to say one or two. Sometimes she holds up one finger and says 2 so we are working on that.

We are trying to do away with the passie as much as possible lately and yesterday I took her passie and wouldn't give it back to her and she started pitching a fit and said "mama mean".

The other night Maci Rose was laying in Jeremy's spot in our bed and when he came to get in the bed and tried to moved her over she said "no move" (in the meanest voice too.) Jeremy just looked at me like did you hear that?

Just a few pics from this weekend....

Kitchen Nightmare...

It all started last week when I was wiping down our counter tops and above my dishwasher I noticed the counter was starting to sink/cave in and it had a huge slope to it. I told Jeremy about it later on and he immediately went into detective mode scoping out all underneath the cabinets, the wall, etc. We had mold underneath the sink, and the 2 cabinets next to the dishwasher, so he immediately called DR Horton to get someone out here to check it out. Ends up...our dishwasher either was not hooked up right or had a leak. (DR Horton is battling with GE Appliances over which one it was still). But no matter the outcome of who has to pay for it between the two, they made sure to get it fixed immediately.

I had no idea it would be this much trouble considering we have only lived here for 5 weeks. They had to tear out all the counters in the kitchen down the whole wall of the dishwasher and half of the next wall. A mold inspector had to come in and inspect the wall for mold to which he found surface mold on the inside. So he had to tear out the sheet rock and spray down the bottom inside of the wall to kill the mold. Another guy had to come and re-do the sheet rock this morning and we currently have the cabinet guy here installing the new cabinets.

For 2 days we've had nothing but chaos over here with people being in and out all day long. With no sink, dishwasher, cabinets, etc. it has been hard to cook or eat in there and it is a complete mess!! I have been washing the few dishes we've used in our guest bathroom sink.
Where they tore the cabinets out and knocked out the sheet rock.

Up Close
All of our pots, pans, utensils, etc. on the living room floor.
Everything crammed on the one counter that remains.
New Sheet Rock
New Cabinets

The finished product minus some paint touch ups above the backsplash.

On top of everything else, Maci Rose and I have had the stomach bug for the past 24 hours. Maci Rose still isn't feeling up to her normal self. She seems to just want to lie in bed a lot. I guess I would be the same way if I didn't have other responsibilites to tend to.

My sweet girl! I pray she gets to feeling better in the next few hours because we have a very important friends birthday party tomorrow!!

Bad Hair Day

Alot of you know how how much of a germ-o-phobe I am and how Maci Rose has never missed a bath one night in her life (I know this will change when I have another one to bathe too). But since she has gotten a head full of hair we've only been washing her hair every other night. Last night she decided to get her head soakin wet playing in the bath but we didnt wash it. So she slept on wet not clean hair.

This morning I got her up, fed and dressed in about 30 mins and headed to drop her off at Mothers Day Out.  I'm obviously the worst mommy ever for not wetting her hair and brushing it before we left. When I came to pick her up the ladies were all talking about how wild her hair was today. I swear she must have played really rough because I would not have dropped her off with her hair like that. This is what she looked like when I picked her up.
It's a good thing she's so young because in elementary school they would have probably made fun of her. Poor thing. I will make sure this doesn't happen again!

My little princess

Maci Rose is soo funny these days! She is constantly walking around the house in her high heels (which she has 4 pairs of) and battles over which ones to wear every few minutes. Tonight she was playing in her room by herself and when she came back in my room a little later this is what she looked like...

high heels, crown and purse!!
She is definitely a little princess in training and if she's anything like her momma she needs the practice in those high heels!

She cannot push her stroller around without a diaper bag, blanket & bottle for her baby too!

Other things that have gotten done this weekend is I have officially cleaned out her closet and organized her clothes, shoes etc. It feels so good to have that finally done! Now I'm ready to get rid of all the winter clothes and just have her spring/summer stuff in there. That will give her so much more room.

All of her dresses on one side.

And play clothes on the other side.

Tights, bloomers, socks, etc. I still need to find a way to organize her shoes though??

Now I have this closet to tackle next...and while there aren't too many clothes to sort through just yet, it's the bottom of the closet that has sooo much organizing to do.

all the bottles, bottle warmer, burp rags in the bag

And mainly every other baby product we have has been thrown in this closet. It's going to take a lot more time than Maci's!

AND...because of the beautiful weather God gave us this weekend I've finally met some of our neighbors and ABSOLUTELY LOVE THEM!! We are surrounded by kids! The people who just moved in next door to us have an 11 month old little girl who is obsessed with Dora also. They actually met Jeremy and I when we first started dating in Tuscaloosa at a friends house. The guy went to Trussville with Jeremy and graduated the same year as I did so we're the same age.

Our other neighbors who live 2 doors down have 2 little girls, 3 & 1. The guy went to hoover and the girl went to Trussville and they also graduated the same year as I did. The guy is good friends with my cousin Chris Serio. It's such a small world!

The other lady I met is a stay at home mother with 4 kids. 3 boys and 1 girl ages 7,5,3, & 1.

I can't wait for the weather to get/stay prettier so we can all go outside and hang out again. It was so fun today with all the kids playing together and getting to know everyone. The guy next door even said we may plan a cookout all together in the next month or 2 when it gets a little warmer. I get really excited about hanging out in my own backyard in a sloppy t-shirt and having a good time with my neighbors and on top of that Maci Rose has a good time too!

Overall, a fun & relaxing weekend!! Next weekend I will be studying like CRAZY because I have my next 2 grad school tests on March 4th! We have tons of big birthdays coming up in the month of March so hopefully it'll be like this month and fly by. I will also be in my 3rd trimester in March and I get a "spring break" which I never thought I would get again!

3 Incredible Years!!

Today I have been married to the most incredible man for 3 years.!!! I can remember our wedding day like it was yesterday. It was the happiest day of my life. (It even topped the day I had Maci Rose). I have dreamed of being a princess since I was 4 and my wedding day I was truly a princess in every way & to top it off I had prince charming waiting to say I DO forever with me. To all of our bridesmaids, groomsmen, grandparents, parents, cousins, aunts, uncles, cousins, god children, photographers, etc. you all truly made our day special!!

Now, 3 years later we are continuing to grow as a couple in our faith with Jesus Christ and through him I know we will be able to conquer anything that life throws at us. To see how our love has grown and how much we have become a team is amazing to me. I hope to spend 50+ more happy and blessed years together with lots of babies!!

I LOVE YOU JEREMY AND I APPRECIATE ALL THE LOVE AND EXCITEMENT YOU'VE BROUGHT ME THROUGHOUT THE YEARS!!

This was the last picture we ever took before we were engaged. Carrie & Tony's wedding.

The First of Many...

Temper Tantrums that is!! I witnessed my first real temper tantrum with Maci Rose today and let me tell ya...I was very embarrassed!!

It all started when I went to pick her up from Mother's Day Out. I never know how she's going to be when I pick her up. Sometimes she's crabby and tired and sometimes shes happy and a little social butterfly. Today, she had a little cut below her eye and the teacher said a little kid threw a toy at her. I was upset but Maci Rose was running around like nothing happened and telling all her friends bye. When we got in the car I decided to run to the grocery store and buy JUST 2 ITEMS (one being sour cream) that I needed to make dinner tonight.

When I was getting her out of the car she wanted to take her baby in with her and I told her no (thinking she would forget about it as soon as we got in the little buggy car thing) BOY WAS I WRONG!! She started crying and cried the whole entire time I was in the store. I was looking for poppy seeds and everyone knows they have like a million different spices on the spice isle. I was so fed up at her screaming and crying and even laying on the floor at one point in time that I grabbed her up and the sour cream and was practically marching to the checkout line.

She was squirming and acting out so much that I accidently dropped the sour cream and it busted all over the floor. I looked over to the guy in that isle and apologized and stormed out of there. When I got her in the car I gave her the biggest spanking. I was soo mad and embarrassed. My child normally LOVES the grocery store. She even helps me put the groceries up on the checkout thing and sings in the buggy, etc. I've never seen this side of her before!!!

When we got home she was STILL crying! I put her in her room (for the first time too) until she would quit crying. When I came back in there a few minutes later she had shut herself in the closet. I kinda felt bad because she couldn't get out.

I put her on my bed and turned Dora on and went downstairs to start preparing dinner. This is what I found when I came upstairs about 10 mins later.

I guess she played really hard today??

A nice mom would probably move her to a more comfortable position I'm sure, but I'm not doing anything that could possibly wake her up!

So now I'm off to study for my quiz tomorrow, walk on the treadmill, and cook "poppy seedless" poppy seed chicken caserole!!!! I'll let ya know how this turns out. HA!!

P.S. If I didn't have another child on the way I'd be like we'll make sure this doesn't happen again. However, with 2...3..etc. more children to bring with me, this may be the easiest grocery store visit for the next 5 years or so. Let's hope not!!

Weekend Festivities

Friday night I made broccolli and rice caserole, lemon pepper chicken, rolls, and strawberry cake for dessert..YUM!! I added some hearts to make it more Valentine's-ish.

On Saturday, as soon as we woke up, we played outside in the snow for the first time. Our neighbors that live behind us were sledding down the hill to our backyard, so we met more of our neighbors too! My "child at heart" husband had some kids to throw snowballs with. You should have seen him nailing a 3rd grader with snow balls. The kid took it very well and threw right back at him...thank goodness!! I  was afraid he was going to run to his mom crying.

Then we had Rylee's b'day party that afternoon. I will say that this is the first time I've actually cried about my belly. I never really had to wear maternity clothes when I was pregnant with Maci because I just would unbutton my pants and wear larger shirts towards the end. I put on the same (nonmaternity)  jeans that I wore up until the last month I was pregnant with Maci and I could barely breathe in them. I looked horrible and just layed on my bed and cried. And this is me trying to suck in as hard as I could to
fit in them. It didn't happen!

So of course I went with the ole leggings that I wear all the time because they are stretchy and no matter how big I get they seem to still fit and pouted my way to the party. Jeremy was making comments like I'm sooo ready for this baby to get here so you can actually start having a better attitude. Seriously?? Do you actually think he's more ready than me?? Men have no clue what we go through!!

The good news is that Maci Rose had a great time at the party! It was at a place called Fox's Pizza & I've never been there before, but I'd love to go back. Their game room is like a mini Chuck E cheeses.  Sounds like a good Friday night place to go!
Happy 2nd Birthday Rylee!!

Today, I woke up to breakfast in bed (mainly for Maci Rose, but hey it let me stay in a bed a little longer than usual), a very sweet card and a new MP3 player from my awesome hubby!  He also took me to Konomi (my favorite restaurant) for lunch. I'm extremely blessed to have such a wonderful man who is strong in his faith, a hard worker and an awesome father to my daughter. I really couldn't ask for more!

This morning, before we were leaving for church Jeremy was just standing in the baby  room and looking around saying he couldn't believe he was having a boy. It's a little surreal for both of us. I have no idea what its going to be like with a little man around here. I'm so used to dolls, hairbows, and PINK everything. I'm curious to see how it's going to be!

I started taking iron pills yesterday that hopefully will give me more energy and help me to start feeling a little better. We have a pretty busy week this week with Ash Wednesday, our anniversary, my parents going to Mexico, my heart monitor test thing, and 2 quizzes.

I''m officially 6 months pregnant!! Only 4 more months to go. Ugh!! Pregnancy is soooo long!!
